QUARANTINE SKILLS

Artwork @moniq.art www.instagram.com/moniq.art/
Wadau wadaudeee😅 Mr. Rona came along with unexpected downtime famously known as quarantine ama ukitaka 'quarantei'😅. I am excited to write about the great opportunities that were offered by this slower lifestyle. You could have learnt a new skill, took time to reconnect with yourself and what makes you happy and so much more. I checked on some of my friends and I found out some of the things they achieved.

1. Baking/new recipes

"I would say that my cooking skills have been sharpened tremendously. I have also learnt to do new dishes." My friend Gladys confessed. I am one of the friends who improved their cooking skills and learnt one or two things from Sue's cooking😊. My friend Edith was able to bake a cake. The first time she baked the cake and gave the son, he expressed the taste in one word,"yuck!"😂😂 Hapo ndo alijua ametupa mbao😅 I tasted the cake she baked the third time and I can proudly recommend her to bakers Inn 🥰.

2. DIYs

The school of You tube has got interesting 'Do it yourself' lessons. My friend Sue is a big beneficiary here, I have seen her transform an old t-shirt into a fancy top, get a low waist trousers to high waist, decorate wine bottles, making floor pillows, yani she is a jack of many trades!🥰

3. Reading

Have you read a book or two? A deluge of free e-books and audio books  have been offered by Audio entertainment companies and publishers to keep readers occupied while hunkered at home. Penguin Random House Audio is a pretty deal for audiobook fans. They offer free listens for families. Reading helps in stimulating imagination and lighting up new ideas. Your language skills are also improved as well as building a better vocabulary.

4. Writing Journals

I honestly never thought I would write (blogging). Writing was not my thing 😂, after all "kizungu sio mdomo changu" 😅. I began by writing Journals to God. During those low and high moments, I grabbed my note book and drafted letters to God! Writing inspires creativity and boost your memory.
You can start by choosing your kind of journal, date your entry, tell the truth as you write down the details. Write about how you felt. Yeah😊

5. Work out

Wale wa, "aki hauna tumbo! Unafanyaga?"😅😂 I have always told you to shine with your JoJo tanks my girls but today I have a different idea😂, work it out!
When curfew was introduced due to Mr. Rona's arrival, we had a lot of time with my friend Sue and she suggested that we begin working out 😊. "Wait! If I lose the little calories I got, alafu?" Don't be like me, exercise to have a flexible body 😅. I made fun and told her that the only exercise I would do was one that led to getting curves😅 . She introduced me to Keaira LaShae work outs in you tube. The trainer is so full of life you all, my favourite was the Brazilian booty burn work out😂😂😂 especially the first move they do! Don't laugh 😅 This is for the girls only, magaldems😅  https://youtu.be/QxqQCvVciWE
I enjoy their moves, but si you all know how dramatic I can be😅, I introduce my odi moves in the workout and it's all fun🤭😉. Work out has so many advantages including keeping your thinking, learning, and judgement skills sharp as you age!

6. Hairdos

You will envy me if I told you that I have a salonist in the house. If I am to write about Sue, I can't exhaust! I have seen her improve her skills during this quarantine. Being her model 😍, she works her plaiting and makeup skills on me. She has grown to doing her own hair, including styles like braids, etc. I have also learnt from her, before I would make a "matuta" that didn't last for 5 minutes 😅, tulibarikiwa tofauti wadau😅, but I can do it better now.

"Ven, I have been training to do my hair alone since I am going to school in the US. It's an added advantage since you reduce the salon cost that is a bit expensive there!" My friend said.

7. Artistic work

Do you have a tik-tok account?😅 Ooh hauna? Tuko nyuma nawewe?😅 People are creating amazing content in various social media platforms. Comedians and various people have come up with interesting programs in the you tube courtesy of quarantine.

Guys are making amazing paintings, drawings, photographs, cartoons, sculptures, etc. The amazing thing is, they are becoming better each and every day. Let's support our own talents by the way😊

8. Make up lessons
I learnt to do my eye brows from the school of you tube. I had an interest to learn doing the brows nicely. The beginning was a bit tricky but with time you get there. Just type, "easy eye brows" Practice in the house please, don't walk out with eyebrows that look like you are trying to get sponsored by Nike😂😂😂
If you need a physical teacher or got an event that needs a professional makeup artist, Sue is here! DM for her services www.instagram.com/kathure_g/

9. Coding
My friend Twity began coding while in class 6🙄. Did I even have access to computer back then?😅. Anyway, she loves coding and doing great stuff at her young age. You don't have to be an IT person to code, if you are interested, give it a try! I think it's fun, eeeh, try it and you may end up earning big from these lessons!

Wadau, there are so many things we have learnt and could keep doing during this season.
I would wish to know what you learnt, the skill you earned. Add the extra skills I left out in the comment box below 😊😊
Thanks for reading my articles ♥️♥️

Aaah, hii nayo, utapenda na usipoipenda basi, utaffffurrrrahia☺️. I have gathered a few facts about these matatus and their users.  1. Dere wa UMOINNER heri aende South Africa kuliko kukaa kwa jam😅.  Check the screenshots below from Umoja residents Facebook page😂😂. 2. There is too loud music in the nganyas...like let me call you once I alight from the matatu. Most of them have installed screens in every corner of the matatu. Some have each screen for every client. UUUIIIII! MWIZIIIi!!!🤭 -Part 1

Wakurugenzi!! Wadauuuu🤗🤗🤗 Hope you have had a beautiful day and of course keeping safe and warm in this chilly weather 😎. This weather thinks we are all married🙄🙄., Smh. Anyway, I promised to narrate the circumstances under which I was conned my Nokia 2.3 phone.😂🤭 Its a funny experience yes, but I did this not only to entertain but also to alert you on the creative tricks used in town so that you and/or your loved ones don't fall victims.😔 Ayaaa basi, wacha katambe😂, a glass of water please 🤗. It's a beautiful Monday morning, exactly 7:30am, I honestly overslept but I can still hurry up and get to work on time since we report by 9/9:30am. Guess who wakes me up?🤗 Paul!! Do you know what Paul wants??😊. Paul begins by asking me if I have received any call from Bessy, and he proceeds to inform me that my profile really looks good and for them to offer me that job, I need to deliver handcopies of my certificates. He goes ahead to enquire whether I pass by Westl...

FIRST FLIGHT MANENOS

Wadau and wadauresses😄😄 salimikeni hewani 😎 High five to those that have sanitised😅. Now, I am about to narrate my first flight experience 😂. Weeuh, mtafurrahi😅 In 2017, a few months before our undergraduate graduation, my friend Hellen and I planned to give our Parents a surprise by booking them return tickets to Kisumu for our graduation at the only university in the Equator 😂. It was a brilliant idea since my mum had encountered a leg fracture from a motor vehicle accident earlier that year😒. After the graduation ceremony, I would enjoy my first flight with my parents as I kissed the long night travels to Western goodbye 😅😂. Wadau, shetani amewahi kuvalilia high waist na akajifunga designer belt🤣🤣🤣. Hiyo design! That is exactly what he did🤷. This was around Christmas season. Ogopa Lakeside people after....😂😂 These guys overbooked KQ tickets and one way ticket went for Ksh 50000. Clearly, my little savings at Family Bank as an intern would not enable me to cater...
