Wadau and wadauresses😄😄 salimikeni hewani 😎 High five to those that have sanitised😅. Now, I am about to narrate my first flight experience 😂. Weeuh, mtafurrahi😅
In 2017, a few months before our undergraduate graduation, my friend Hellen and I planned to give our Parents a surprise by booking them return tickets to Kisumu for our graduation at the only university in the Equator 😂. It was a brilliant idea since my mum had encountered a leg fracture from a motor vehicle accident earlier that year😒. After the graduation ceremony, I would enjoy my first flight with my parents as I kissed the long night travels to Western goodbye 😅😂.
Wadau, shetani amewahi kuvalilia high waist na akajifunga designer belt🤣🤣🤣. Hiyo design! That is exactly what he did🤷. This was around Christmas season. Ogopa Lakeside people after....😂😂 These guys overbooked KQ tickets and one way ticket went for Ksh 50000. Clearly, my little savings at Family Bank as an intern would not enable me to cater for all this. It's seems Easy Coach was the only way out 😂 My dad and I went for the school graduation and we later threw a party back at home.
I joined Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) as an intern. I loved the experience here since we had a lot of fieldwork that came along with per diems 😉, meeting the who is who in the counties and for the far counties, the staff would get flights 😄. The first flight I was to have was to Wajir County. We made plans and when we almost booked the tickets, shetani aliamua kunivalia jamsuit🙄. The commissioner in charge declined having interns in the field😒😒. Hata sikusikia vibaya🙄 I hear the North Eastern flights are uncomfy, you even dust yourself after the flight😅. Leave alone the turbulences that get you singing along to the terrible tunes🤷. Clearly, would you want to build a first flight experience with such 😂😂. Wadau, msidanganywe, deep down, I didn't mind 😂😂. I would still enjoy!🤭 But haisuruu😅
A few months later, I was in the midst of organising for the County Revenue Automation Conference (CRAC) and your girl is no longer an intern but a fiscal analyst on contract basis though 😊. Hii ndege lazima tupande!😂😂 The conference was taking place at County 002 aka Kwale County. Northern Coast itanitambua sasa😂😂. Aaah!
It's a beautiful Monday morning, the birds we wrote about in our compositions at our early age, literally whistled that morning wadau🤣🤣🤣 for the first time 😂😂. I had bought some snacks for the journey cause clearly, the Economist in me can't allow me to get crisps za forty fae at 250 at Jambo Jet😂😂😂. I have everything in order. My safari bag is ready, my back pack is set with report writing materials, I am dressed in my only kitenge short and Maasai sandals 😅😅 Kutesa nitatesaaa, aaah, mtafurrrahi🤣🤣.
I get picked by a cab and head to Riverside 14 to pick some banners at the office. I am so thrilled at this first experience. We drive off to the office, get the banners and when we were about to check out at the exit, the security guys needed a letter with a stamp indicating the tools we collected. The stamp guys are not in the office. It's 8am, my flight takes off at 9:45am, that means by 9am latest, I should have checked in 🤦🤦. Should we say that the defo has gone naked on this case🤭. You know this guy can be dramatic when he wants to🙄🙄 smh. Weeuh, tension 😳😳 I make calls here and there. Do you know this song by Naomi Raine that says, I'll tell a story that my God did not fail😅? He clearly didn't fail me here. Dere, kaende kaende hadi airport. Tulimanage wadauuu😂😂 Mungu ni mwema.😅😄
As I checked in, the kind of hospitality we received you would think hospitality was born in Kenya🤗. I also encountered these kids who were traveling to their parents in abroad. You would tell that they were not new in these streets unlike some grown ups here😂😂😂. 'Manze God, let me whisper something from my mouth to your ears 😒. I pray that this is the kinda a lifestyle I want for my kids. Flights? Not a big deal! Deal sealed 🤝🤜🤛'😅 Sorry, I dragged you into our whispers but you can perceive the same as well🤝.
It's time to take our seats as we take off to Diani🤗🤗🤗. We have these noisy group of Indian mamas traveling to Diani. One of them happens to be my Seatmate. She is quite friendly and explains to me that the Indian festivals took place during that period and so they left for the ocean to pray from there as was their culture. Where are my girls club? Are you taking notes? Tuomoke pamoja and we fly to various favourite destinations for our Easter Weekends ♥️♥️ Can I get an amen? Thank you for the amen at back, God bless you🤗
"Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. Welcome to Flight number anga 540 from Nairobi to Diani. The weather ahead is good and, therefore, we should have a smooth and uneventful flight." Wadauuu, wadauuu, nitawaita mara ngapiii??😅 goosebumps 🥰🥰🥰. I am gonna experience my next memorable 45 minutes😄. After several minutes, the captain goes, "ladies and gentlemen, we are 25000 feets above Mt. Kilimanjaro. You can enjoy a view of the beautiful scenery😍." I enjoyed. Nilifrrrrahi wadau.
As we landed, one of my friends wanted us to have a picture with the captain. We hesitated to take any pictures since we were afraid of some senior guys from the Commission. We had the C.E.O and some commissioners in the same flight so we had to behave🤭😅. I narrated this to my cousin Kags and this what she had to say, "Never be intimidated to enjoy your memories. Everyone has had their first time. Probably you had your first flight at a younger age than them so please, never be afraid! Be you and enjoy the moment!"🤭😅 No chills in these streets 😄. I felt it though 😊.
We are now at Diani , taxi drivers are all over with printed names. Sisi ni kina nani?😅 Sema wafanyi kazi wa serikali 🤭 GK inatungoja wadau na wadauresses 😂. We check in to the hotels and I of course call my family members to narrate to them about the memorable flight 🤭. I was famous in the village 😂 auntie wa ndege it is😂
Wacha tukule Per Diem sasa 😂
