DARK SKINNED GIRLS -PART 2

Wakurugenziii 😅😅 Nyinyi ni wa maana sana🤗. Thanks for subscribing to my blog manze 🤗💪.
Last time I published 'Dark skinned girls' article, someone asked me to write about light skinned men! I am still trying to understand whether that's a problem for the light dudes out there😅. Njooni tusemesane wadau🤗. To get the previous story on dark skinned girls, follow the link https://venecitychronicles.blogspot.com/2020/07/dark-skinned-girls.html

When invited for an interview, neatly dressed, arriving on time and well set with a lucrative resume in hand is the least of all it takes to land an employment opportunity! Being impartially qualified and blowing the interview out of the park dramatically grows your chances of you getting hired but kama hauna 'rangi ya thao' mdau, haupati hiyo jobo! This happens mostly in the beauty industry; If one is a dark skin, they may not win the opportunity. I appreciate that currently the beauty industry has 'recognized' the black skin and now one can get dark skin products.

A friend of mine happened to work at a very famous bank in Kenya and she had this to say. For you to work at their call center reception, you got to be a light skin. They referred to the ladies at the reception as the face of the bank😊. The bank wanted their customers to interface with employees of a 'light skin' appearances. They believed that to maintain a positive image in the society, you got ladies to light the world. Lol😅 When the receptionist was not at work, the guys at the back office would be rotated and when it was the black girl's turn, the rotation came to an end😅😅. Clearly! 😅 Why ruin the company's image😅.

Well, I  promised to share some of the feedback concerning this sensitive topic. I reached out to my girls club😅 nikawashow wakam through for me in this topic and I will be sharing their responses below😊.

Sparkling new; Nokia 5.3

"I personally don't believe in skin bleaching. One becomes a funny coloured creature with dark knuckles. It takes a whole lot of self love to accept personal beauty." Jackie said.

"The issue of color goes down to racism😒. The white missionary came and taught us that Jesus was white and the devil was black😂. The slaves were black and the master was white. I totally believe that this is the reason why we subconsciously associate good things with being white. Latently, beautiful is closer to white and ugly is closer to black! However, am glad that recently dark skinned girls have appeared on beauty pageants 😊." Murugi quoted.

" I saw a YouTube video that the whites would tan their skin to look better. I was really astonished and I think this whole thing has to do with self identity and self love!" Gloria said

"The fallacy that the lighter your dark skin is the prettier you are, is also a major problem. This transcends across all genders and quite frankly even to the 'white people' too. Like in the US, back in the slavery, the light skinned blacks were picked to take care of the household chores while the darker ones laboured in the farm😂😂😂 " Gladys added.

We had to laugh this off and Nelly was like, "my friend and I joked on how we were a little bit light so we would be lucky to work as house niggas. 😂😂😂
Ayeee, it's so ridiculous how the blacks have been disadvantaged🤷. Believe you me, all this is in our heads like Muhammed Ali said."

"The Whites have always been afraid that the blacks would be too powerful if we ever attained the full autonomy. Look at them trying to be like us;altering our cells in the labs to use on themselves so as to attain our austerity and tanning their skins to be darker!" Gladys said.

"Very true, we are stronger, healthier, stamina and everything. If we used our heads well and stopped all the corruption in it, we would be quite far as we speak!" Murugi responded.

Gladys is so bitter on this matter and she concluded it in this manner 😅," We are built for survival and thriving 💪. Coming to think about it, most of the wealth these 'white nations' with exception of Russia are enjoying was stolen from Africa 😅.
When I check the Great Britain and her counterparts, nasikia kuchizi yani, and they are still at it today through neocolonialism, i.e. grants, loans, dictatorship of leaders when they disapprove of them. Look at what they did to Libya when Gaddafi tried to sell the agenda of unifying Africa and actually had a wonderful system that aided his populous! And so much more.
China was late to the race and is catching up now. DRC will never have peace as long as they continue harbouring the tremendous amount of minerals they have; they fuel and arm all the local wars there.
Their multinationals bought out Nigerian oil fields. With stability and proper governance, Nigeria would be at the same league with kina Saudi Arabia as we speak! Case and point Dubai! This is a city less than 30 years old and has grown due to the oil funding development and attracing investors!
Hizi vitu zinaniuma sana!" She concluded 😅

At some point I felt like I was in a history class😅 and I enjoyed it. Clearly, there is a bigger picture to it.
Wadauuuu, are we togeza in this🤗
I am stopping here, my girls said it all💪

  1. Black is beautiful and we were all created in the image of God. Let's embrace our dark-skinned girls and boys. If they grow knowing their skin is beautiful, then they won't feel the urge to lighten their skin. It's the high time we stop glorifying 'rangi ya thao' especially in most media houses, movie industry and in advertising.
    Bravo Cicieh for this piece.

FIRST FLIGHT MANENOS

Wadau and wadauresses😄😄 salimikeni hewani 😎 High five to those that have sanitised😅. Now, I am about to narrate my first flight experience 😂. Weeuh, mtafurrahi😅 In 2017, a few months before our undergraduate graduation, my friend Hellen and I planned to give our Parents a surprise by booking them return tickets to Kisumu for our graduation at the only university in the Equator 😂. It was a brilliant idea since my mum had encountered a leg fracture from a motor vehicle accident earlier that year😒. After the graduation ceremony, I would enjoy my first flight with my parents as I kissed the long night travels to Western goodbye 😅😂. Wadau, shetani amewahi kuvalilia high waist na akajifunga designer belt🤣🤣🤣. Hiyo design! That is exactly what he did🤷. This was around Christmas season. Ogopa Lakeside people after....😂😂 These guys overbooked KQ tickets and one way ticket went for Ksh 50000. Clearly, my little savings at Family Bank as an intern would not enable me to cater...
