HOW I CELEBRATED MY BIRTHDAY

Her highness the birthday girl ๐Ÿฅฐ

Wadaau, tumsifu Yesu Kristo๐Ÿค—  Mko fiti?๐Ÿ˜…
I am bringing you this story straightaaa from the kitchen. How my day went like๐Ÿ˜€. Mtafurahiaa ๐Ÿ˜‚... Turuus

Sasaa, I woke up and did my thing, prepared for work, did full make up! si unajua lazima nijitreat kiasi hata kama hakuna budesco hii roundi๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
My people were wondering why I wasn't excited about my birthday. My mbogi was so excited about my birthday, way before the D-day and posing questions like 'party itakuwa wapi?'๐Ÿคญ. Baby Ray called to say that he was on his way to my birthday๐Ÿ˜…. Aiiyaa, with whose money? My account can be embarrassing a times a beg๐Ÿ˜…. Be warned, baby Ray will come to your birthday and he will sing the birthday song to himuselofu๐Ÿคฃ. Wacha niwambie,  during his mum's birthday, we red handedly caught him set with a knife in the kitchen ready to cut the mum's cake๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚smh.

We had plans to meet up with a dear friend Hellen that evening. My small sister Twity si mnajua huyo lazima tu she had to come through even if it meant kidnapping me from work ๐Ÿ˜….
On my way to town, I received a WhatsApp text from Hellen who told me that we would not be able to meet. She as well asked me to let her know when I got to town.

Twity, Kiki & Vene

I report to work and make a call to Hellen. Hellen ni nani, ni Yule beshte yani. She sends a breakfast package from Nimrod coffee.  'sasa nitapike ile mkate ya asubuhi ama, juu I can't resist this sumptuous breakfast'๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. Disclaimer, after reading this story, you will realize that most of my friends came through with food stuff๐Ÿ˜‚, Nani aliwambia mi hupenda chakula surely? Mimi?! Chakula! Nitakula tu wasisikie vibaya๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜….

Kidogo kidogo my girls club wakakam through na calls here and there. Kidogo kidogo, 'siz, go to Java, get some coffee and cake' Guess what, Glow amedrop ka-mpesa๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’ƒ.
Mimi niende unyo unyo Java, nikae chini, niitishe 'kaua ka maana yatano' na hii economy. Najua kutengeneza latte kwa nyumba๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ lol.

It's 2:15pm, my girl Twity calls."Happy birthday my gal, my sister Kinya came to town for your birthday. Can we have lunch at 2:30pm? Are you busy? "
"Aaaww, thanks my girl, yeah let me organise and come." I revert.
"Come to my dad's office and then we can go have our lunch. Kinya is so excited about your birthday girl๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ"
Mimi huyo, I have to slay. Ama mnataka niende na Nokia Tshirt na sijui napelekwa wapi? Surely!๐Ÿ˜….

I get at Tumaini- house, tunapiga udaku kidogo, of course take a few pictures and we leave for lunch.
"How are you feeling that it's your day? Where do we go for lunch girlie?" Mimi hata ukinipeleka kwa Njuguna tukunywe 'subuu' ikona kafirifiri kwa umbali ni Sawa pia๐Ÿ˜….
We head to Mint & Salt. Twity asked me to dare their yummy chicken Shawarma and salads. The waiter brought the drinks menu. Kinya asked me to try sijui French kรฎrรฎaa๐Ÿ˜…. Weeuh, how do you pronounce classic mojito, ati 'mohito' . Nilenge hii story ya drinks ama? Juu hizi majina a beg๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ but who am I? Twity decides to take me through the names as I pronounced them. Wadau nimesahau zote๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. I honestly enjoyed my lunch and am so grateful to these girls who became family ❤️๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’—.

Thanks Sue & Dagama for the cake๐Ÿ˜‹

Kidogo kidogo Sue calls me (you should be knowing Sue by now)๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿคญ. "Are you at the shop? there is a friend of mine who want 6 Nokia phones from you. I have given them your number๐Ÿ˜Š." Aaah, wadau, hiyo ni deal fitii๐Ÿ’ช, wacha niharakishe ndo nipatane na huyu customer.
I went back to the shop, 30 minutes are gone. The customer hasn't called yet. Kidogo kidogo, Sue and my niece Tracy ndo hao, the great customers I have been waiting for. Sema makekiii, sema kusurprisiwa wadau! Weeuh, hapa mtu hufanyaje๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿคฆ. Si ni kukata keki tunakula na wadau. It's around 4:30pm, the excitement around can't allow me concentrate at work and so we set for home.

Sue, Tracy & I

We get a matatu and I suddenly remember I had left something I needed at the shop. We alight and I get back to the shop. Kidogo kidogo, our brotherman calls, sijui tumwite budesco but hapana huyu ni Yule brazaman wadau. "Mshatoka? I am almost in town. Can you chill for a few minutes? We can meet at Chicken Inn at Archives." Kama hujui, there is a new one at Archives. Wadauu, semeni Makuku๐Ÿ˜…, masoda maingi na sijui mashokolate, nipeeni spelling za 'milksheki'๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
Aaah mbogi ilifurahiiiia.

Did I tell you that before our bro arrived we had to request the soldier at the entrance to allow us wait from the inside. You can say this with all the Luhya๐Ÿคฃ "Sasaa, uko chuu mnafaa kuingia Tu na risiti. Mtangojeako Tu hapo". Weeuh we chill at the entrance with strict instructions. They arrive and just on saying hi, soja wenu ndo huyo. "Nani alikuwa anangojewa? Tafadhali enda ufanyeko order Kwanza"๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Am dying! So we ask him to give us a minute since one of us was not staying. " Hapanaaa, hata Mimi naharakishwa. Mlipe kwanza tafadhali." He directs them to the counter. We had to pay first๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.

We get to upstairs and we are welcomed by the soldier who was harakishaing the other one at downstairs. We take two tables and the lady soldier decides to social distance us like we were doing Chemistry paper 3. Smh.
I argue that we stay in the same house so it made no sense to have people in different corners. Our brazaman is so mad right now, he even suggests we take away. Tulikula tu☹️☹️. Corona ishindwee btw.
We later left for home. Of course had to take the cake to Baby Ray ๐Ÿ˜„. You would think it was his birthday. Did I tell you how people ate in the car you would think tulikua kwa safari ya kwenda Miiru with Kensilver๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ.
Wadauuu...

UMOINNER MANYANGARE

Wadauuuuuuu๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—... Wakurugenziii... First ofoo, are you fine? Leo nakupeleka moja kwa moja hadi Umoja aka Umo, the city of the latest nganyas, ama ukitaka manyangareee. Aaah, hii nayo, utapenda na usipoipenda basi, utaffffurrrrahia☺️. I have gathered a few facts about these matatus and their users.  1. UMOINNER nganyas ply to Umoja 1, 2 and Inner core Estate, but yeah, utazipata along Thika Road, Mombasa Road,  I mean, itapitia hadi Namanga bora ihepe jam๐Ÿ˜…. Dere wa UMOINNER heri aende South Africa kuliko kukaa kwa jam๐Ÿ˜….  Check the screenshots below from Umoja residents Facebook page๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. 2. There is too loud music in the nganyas...like let me call you once I alight from the matatu. Most of them have installed screens in every corner of the matatu. Some have each screen for every client. Watu wa Ruaka na Waiyaki Way kaeni kando kidogo mnawekewa kameme FM, but why๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿ˜’. And yeah, some of them have PS5 as well. 3. They have masterful artistic filters.  The nganyas a...

UUUIIIII! MWIZIIIi!!!๐Ÿคญ -Part 1

Wakurugenzi!! Wadauuuu๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค— Hope you have had a beautiful day and of course keeping safe and warm in this chilly weather ๐Ÿ˜Ž. This weather thinks we are all married๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„., Smh. Anyway, I promised to narrate the circumstances under which I was conned my Nokia 2.3 phone.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคญ Its a funny experience yes, but I did this not only to entertain but also to alert you on the creative tricks used in town so that you and/or your loved ones don't fall victims.๐Ÿ˜” Ayaaa basi, wacha katambe๐Ÿ˜‚, a glass of water please ๐Ÿค—. It's a beautiful Monday morning, exactly 7:30am, I honestly overslept but I can still hurry up and get to work on time since we report by 9/9:30am. Guess who wakes me up?๐Ÿค— Paul!! Do you know what Paul wants??๐Ÿ˜Š. Paul begins by asking me if I have received any call from Bessy, and he proceeds to inform me that my profile really looks good and for them to offer me that job, I need to deliver handcopies of my certificates. He goes ahead to enquire whether I pass by Westl...

FIRST FLIGHT MANENOS

Wadau and wadauresses๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„ salimikeni hewani ๐Ÿ˜Ž High five to those that have sanitised๐Ÿ˜…. Now, I am about to narrate my first flight experience ๐Ÿ˜‚. Weeuh, mtafurrahi๐Ÿ˜… In 2017, a few months before our undergraduate graduation, my friend Hellen and I planned to give our Parents a surprise by booking them return tickets to Kisumu for our graduation at the only university in the Equator ๐Ÿ˜‚. It was a brilliant idea since my mum had encountered a leg fracture from a motor vehicle accident earlier that year๐Ÿ˜’. After the graduation ceremony, I would enjoy my first flight with my parents as I kissed the long night travels to Western goodbye ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜‚. Wadau, shetani amewahi kuvalilia high waist na akajifunga designer belt๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ. Hiyo design! That is exactly what he did๐Ÿคท. This was around Christmas season. Ogopa Lakeside people after....๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ These guys overbooked KQ tickets and one way ticket went for Ksh 50000. Clearly, my little savings at Family Bank as an intern would not enable me to cater...
