DARK SKINNED GIRLS -PART 2

Wakurugenziii 😅😅 Nyinyi ni wa maana sana🤗. Thanks for subscribing to my blog manze 🤗💪.  Last time I published 'Dark skinned girls' article, someone asked me to write about light skinned men! I am still trying to understand whether that's a problem for the light dudes out there😅. Njooni tusemesane wadau🤗. To get the previous story on dark skinned girls, follow the link  https://venecitychronicles.blogspot.com/2020/07/dark-skinned-girls.html When invited for an interview, neatly dressed, arriving on time and well set with a lucrative resume in hand is the least of all it takes to land an employment opportunity! Being impartially qualified and blowing the interview out of the park dramatically grows your chances of you getting hired but kama hauna 'rangi ya thao' mdau, haupati hiyo jobo! This happens mostly in the beauty industry; If one is a dark skin, they may not win the opportunity. I appreciate that currently the beauty industry has 'recogniz...

CHILDHOOD CHRONICLES

Nokia 7.2 (128gb, 6gb); 48mp zeiss optics Wakurugenziii!!! After hii story, mtafurahiaa😂😂😂 (say that in Abel Mutua's voice and energy) Na si nimewamiss wadau🤗 Hope you all holding up well. Today I decided to narrate a story of a childhood friend famously known Kaume kaskati ama Kaume samaki😂😂😂. First of all, let me explain the origin of his heroic name, Kaume kaskati 😅.  Kaume was his real name. He happened to be a third born after his two sisters. Kaume grew up without identity, yanii, you wouldn't know whether he was a boy or a girl. How? What happened, whenever the big sisters' dresses and skirts were smaller, they passed them on to Kaskati. Kaskati is a kimeru name for skirt 😅. Sasa wadau, Kasikatî would be sent to look after their flock of sheep in dresses and people would address him as 'kamwali' yani kamrembo or a young girl if you like it. "Niatia kamwali?" "Ikwega" he responded. Believe you me, Kaume would respond after b...

QUARANTINE SKILLS

Artwork @moniq.art  www.instagram.com/moniq.art/ Wadau wadaudeee😅 Mr. Rona came along with unexpected downtime famously known as quarantine ama ukitaka 'quarantei'😅. I am excited to write about the great opportunities that were offered by this slower lifestyle. You could have learnt a new skill, took time to reconnect with yourself and what makes you happy and so much more. I checked on some of my friends and I found out some of the things they achieved. 1. Baking/new recipes "I would say that my cooking skills have been sharpened tremendously. I have also learnt to do new dishes." My friend Gladys confessed. I am one of the friends who improved their cooking skills and learnt one or two things from Sue's cooking😊. My friend Edith was able to bake a cake. The first time she baked the cake and gave the son, he expressed the taste in one word,"yuck!"😂😂 Hapo ndo alijua ametupa mbao😅 I tasted the cake she baked the third time and I can proudly ...

DARK-SKINNED GIRLS -PART 1

My people 🤗🤗😊 Hope you are all holding up well. Today we are doing a very sensitive topic and I would wish to get your feedback on the comment box. Can I call it an op-ed article? Well, a friend of mine asked me to do an article on dark skinned girls 😊. Why not?! I decided to do some research within my circle and I got some tangible feedback that I will be sharing in part 2 of this article. You may have come across the famous Beyonce's song called  "Brown Skin girl'' A song that uplifts dark skinned women and mentions the likes of Lupita Nyong'o. It evokes such an untamed and intuitive display of arrogance and insecurity faced by black women. Our own Sauti Sol did the "Melanin" hit song to appreciate the dark skin woman. Why would celebrities do a campaign to uplift the dark skin woman? Some people would think that the idea of celebrating one kind of beauty innately means disparaging another. Well, do you think so? In American culture, skin ...

TOOTHACHE CHRONICLES 😏

Wadauuuu 🤗 wakurugenzi wakuu 💪 watu wangu wa maana, happy new month! Happy new half of the year 😅. I heard someone dismiss 2020 and indicated that they would skip the year on counting their age😅lol. Anywho🤗, let's hope the rest of the year gonna be friendly to us. Toothache manenos it is! Sasaa wadau, my teeth are usually so sensitive during cold seasons, but this season did not come along with sensitivity only but serious pain. I have had a long history with my teeth since I was young. I have lost several teeth, had a root canal and several tooth refilling ☹️. I can't afford to lose an extra tooth again, especially at my age, maaaan!😒😒 On these fateful days, I ignored the pain and assumed that the pain was due to the July cold approaching! Well, I tried serious painkillers like betapyn but this particular toothache, shamelessly, didn't respect it☹️😭😭 I didn't sleep well that night and swore that this time round, I would set off at dawn to visit the de...

PUNDA AMECHOKA☹️☹️

pexel.com wakurugenzi wakuu🤗🤗, thanks a lot for supporting me yani! You guys are the best! Reading my articles, commenting, sharing and subscribing to my blog is such a big thing to me maguys!💪💪 Thanks a lot😉🤗. Sasaa, wadau, have you heard of Balaam's story in the Bible? Punda alichoka literally 😂😂 na akaongea. Aaiya! You may think I am creating my own story! Twendeni moja kwa moja hadi  Chapter 22 of the  Book of Numbers  ( Numbers 22 ). 😅 Sasa, wacha niwambie, Balaam was a prophet in the Old testament. The Israelites were nearing the promised land but the surrounding nations wanted to sabotage them forcing them to go to war with them, but God was always on their side and each victory came with a message. Balak, the king of Moab didn't have hope to defeat the Israelites. "Hapa lazima nikachoree!" Akakumbuka kuna mjamaa anaitwa Balaam, huyu jamaa alikuwa Yule msee yani, in that whatever he blessed was truly blessed and vice versa! Balak akaona, h...

ROAD TRIP TO MARA🥰

Oyaaa! Oyaaah!  Wadau, hope you are all doing well this weekend 😊. Sorry for keeping you waiting ☹️ hope you enjoy our chronicles to Mara😅, such a beautiful and scary adventure at the same time😂. Twende kazi! In 2018, around November, our family friend, who worked in Maasai land invited us for end of the year mbuzi🤗. Sisi ni kina nani,🤷 we never disappoint 😂😅. We agreed to go for the mbuzi and we were given strict instructions that we should leave the house early enough since it was a rainy season.  The road from Narok town would get quite muddy and inaccessible once it rained☹️. We woke up well with my mbogi, si unajua we need to slay for the road trip pictures you all🤷, what do I put on bla bla delayed us.  We left the house and of course got to a supermarket to get some goodies for the journey and at some point pick Nicole's (my niece) results from school. Make up session by Sue https://www.instagram.com/kathure_g We are four of us, sorry five🤭...
