ROAD TRIP TO MARA🥰

Oyaaa! Oyaaah!  Wadau, hope you are all doing well this weekend 😊. Sorry for keeping you waiting ☹️ hope you enjoy our chronicles to Mara😅, such a beautiful and scary adventure at the same time😂. Twende kazi!

In 2018, around November, our family friend, who worked in Maasai land invited us for end of the year mbuzi🤗. Sisi ni kina nani,🤷 we never disappoint 😂😅. We agreed to go for the mbuzi and we were given strict instructions that we should leave the house early enough since it was a rainy season.  The road from Narok town would get quite muddy and inaccessible once it rained☹️.

We woke up well with my mbogi, si unajua we need to slay for the road trip pictures you all🤷, what do I put on bla bla delayed us.  We left the house and of course got to a supermarket to get some goodies for the journey and at some point pick Nicole's (my niece) results from school.

We are four of us, sorry five🤭😄 Mama Ray was the driver, your co-driver is narrating the story here, Sue, Nicole and baby Ray at the back. Ayaaa! Ndo sisi hao, we begin the photo shoot at the View point. I am telling you watu niko nao really love traveling so much, they even got dreams of setting up a tour farm leave alone taking a course on the same. Are we togeza?😅

We get off the car to get some mahindi Choma from one of the joints and of course capture the captivating monkey pictures🙄. Slayqueens watatuonyesha mambo😂😅. We are all so excited and the whole trip ni maselfie tu😅.

We arrive at Narok town past 3pm.
Wadau, now this is where the road trip begins with all drama🤭😅. We enjoy seeing the wild animals as we drive along. It's such a beautiful land and of course I can't afford to forget the beautiful sunset!
Nani alisema Maasai ni Maasai tu !🤷😂 . Si poa😅 . We might confirm this saying 😅 wait for it!.  We drive across a probox that had ferried a huge number of people and we are so surprised how the driver coped with such a condition and the bad road! The probox is stocked with people even at the car boot. They also had some Moran on the car roof. Before they got a puncture, they drove ahead of us and I got a chance to capture a video of these crazy people 😂. It was funnier than I can explain.
My phone had flashlight on as I captured the video. Makosaaaaaa (DJ Afro😂😂). They drove so fast to catch up with us after fixing their puncture! Remember we are strangers here, the roads are bad and it's getting late. Our driver is a bit slow not like them☹️ hajaizoea hiyo barabara wadau, but she is really good!

Ndo hao sasa! They drove and packed just infront of our car😄 Have you ever seen an angry Moran?! " Nyinyi ndio mmetuchukua picha, mnazipeleka wapi? Leta hiyo simu!" (Say this in Maasai accent😅). Mama Ray begins to cover me up and they go ahead,"sio wewe, ni huyu mwingine ndo alichukua!" They point at me.

This is how kuponea chupu chupu comes in😄. The cunning me gets my cousin's phone and begin to use and pretend that it's mine 😂😂. "Oneni, I didn't take pictures of you guys, we were taking  selfies🤷 Can you see any of your pictures?" I disapprove them😅. Maasai ni Maasai tu 😂😅 aliingia box😂 10 nil. Driver wetu naye ni nani?! She even ask them for directions 😂 and brings up stories! Uuuh, we finally became friends. They went back to their vehicle and left😂😂. Si Mungu ni mkuu wadau😂.

We are receiving calls on whether we are almost there! No landmark wadau, we are at the middle of the wilderness ☹️. We don't want them to panic so we give them hope that we would get there in time!
The darkness is here and baby Ray is really crying. He wants the attention of the mum. He was quite young then. To get the amazing episode on baby Ray 😅, click https://venecitychronicles.blogspot.com/2020/06/special-guest-tonight.html?m=1
We are afraid that his cry attracts the wild animals😂 "guys, I hope all the windows are closed?😂😂😂"
Sue says. At some point Sue saw a wall on the road, smh🙄. Surprisingly, she would also see hyena's eyes from a distance. It was scary wadau😂😂.

Now, we have a great challenge here! It's tricky crossing a certain bridge along the road. The bridge was really stiff 😫😣, it's like a wall in a way, so there is a way you drive along and if you miss a little, the river besides you is so ready to ferry you and your car for free😭. It was terrible!
"Do I get off the car and direct you on how to cross over?!" The famous co-driver asked 😄💪
"Aaiya, unajua tuko wapi? I can't deliver you to the wild animals just like that😂😂😂" mama Ray says. Our crew at the back is so scared yani😅  Mama Ray is the best driver I came across! She managed wadau. She did! We drove along and some point we wouldn't see the road anymore 😂. The driver was seeing a sea past the car lights🤷😂.

Wadau, we are now receiving calls from scared people on the other side and we have to be strong for them!
We got there past 9 in the night! Weeuh, thank God!
The mbuzi event was the next day. It was cooked the Maasai way! Si mnajua Mimi na soup ni kitu kimoja! The soup was sumptuous. It had some traditional herbs wadau. We had like 3 types of meat cooked differently! The ones I remember clearly was called "olpunda" and "munono". "Olpunda" was cooked till dry and crispy. You can keep it for a month or so😅. It was the snack back to Nairobi! We had a bonfire and I met rhumba lovers as well. You can tell that it was a beautiful evening! Nilijibamba wakurugenzi 😅. Maasai people are so warm. We enjoyed the stay tbh.

On our way back to Nairobi, we got another driver who assured us of a short cut to a place called Maji Moto which is closer to town. We drove through the wilderness, ndo sisi hao. Just almost there 😁, barabara iliisha😂😂.Iliisha, yani, imeisha!🤷😂😂. We get to talk to a shepherd here and it seems that we will have to drive back to the main road. So you think the slay queens are worried?🤷😅, No, just busy taking photos. Mtajuaje we went to Maasai land! IG leo itajua haijui😂

Wadau, we had to drive back to the main road! Several Kilometres away!😭 However, we got back to Nairobi in a happy mood, and with beautiful and scary stories to tell. I am sure Nicole did not struggle to write the composition about the journey 😅.
It was a beautiful adventure ❤️ Hope Mr. Rona goes away and we can plan for more! Ifikie mkurugenzi mkuu that we want another mbuzi after Rona is gone 😅

UUUIIIII! MWIZIIIi!!!🤭 -Part 1

Wakurugenzi!! Wadauuuu🤗🤗🤗 Hope you have had a beautiful day and of course keeping safe and warm in this chilly weather 😎. This weather thinks we are all married🙄🙄., Smh. Anyway, I promised to narrate the circumstances under which I was conned my Nokia 2.3 phone.😂🤭 Its a funny experience yes, but I did this not only to entertain but also to alert you on the creative tricks used in town so that you and/or your loved ones don't fall victims.😔 Ayaaa basi, wacha katambe😂, a glass of water please 🤗. It's a beautiful Monday morning, exactly 7:30am, I honestly overslept but I can still hurry up and get to work on time since we report by 9/9:30am. Guess who wakes me up?🤗 Paul!! Do you know what Paul wants??😊. Paul begins by asking me if I have received any call from Bessy, and he proceeds to inform me that my profile really looks good and for them to offer me that job, I need to deliver handcopies of my certificates. He goes ahead to enquire whether I pass by Westl...

FIRST FLIGHT MANENOS

Wadau and wadauresses😄😄 salimikeni hewani 😎 High five to those that have sanitised😅. Now, I am about to narrate my first flight experience 😂. Weeuh, mtafurrahi😅 In 2017, a few months before our undergraduate graduation, my friend Hellen and I planned to give our Parents a surprise by booking them return tickets to Kisumu for our graduation at the only university in the Equator 😂. It was a brilliant idea since my mum had encountered a leg fracture from a motor vehicle accident earlier that year😒. After the graduation ceremony, I would enjoy my first flight with my parents as I kissed the long night travels to Western goodbye 😅😂. Wadau, shetani amewahi kuvalilia high waist na akajifunga designer belt🤣🤣🤣. Hiyo design! That is exactly what he did🤷. This was around Christmas season. Ogopa Lakeside people after....😂😂 These guys overbooked KQ tickets and one way ticket went for Ksh 50000. Clearly, my little savings at Family Bank as an intern would not enable me to cater...
